What is the best site to find discounted hotels?

I'm planning on traveling in the USA, mostly LA and NYC in April/May and I would like to book the hotels at least a couple of weeks in advance, I know some sites are just last minute ones, which is fine if they are cheap/good deals. I've tried Hotwire although it doesn't tell you which hotel it is, has anyone used hotwire? do you pay immediately? It's fine if I know I'm going to get a decent deal. I'm sure there was a site that I can't find now that listed top hotel discounts for the week? I would prefer to be able to click on the hotel and check it out first. What is the best site to find discounted hotels?
Ive tried them all and have had the best luck with expedia. Hotwire is ok but I dont like the fact that you dont learn which hotel you get untill after you pay ! Trust me outta experiance expedia is the way to go.What is the best site to find discounted hotels?

Discounted Hotels in Las Vegas?

I have heard around that Las Vegas Hotels always offer good discounts to tourists (because they want you to gamble in their casino's). How much truth is to this? And if so what is the best way that I can get a good discount on a three room reservation in the month of march '08?Discounted Hotels in Las Vegas?
This site has some great deals on hotel rooms

http://www.ytbtravel.com/wooden

I have tried it and it worked out really well and good price.Discounted Hotels in Las Vegas?
well if you call up or go to the Tourists Bureau they can find some good hotels for cheap. We stayed at the Mandalay Bay for $65 a night. You can tell them what you prefer to spend a night on a hotel and they will search for you
If you gamble a significant amount, say 1K a day, and belong to the players club (get a rating) you can earn a discount on the cost of the room. But otherwise you are at the whim of the time of year, etc.

The best rates are Monday thru Thursday and not a holiday. Prices on The Strip vary but the best rates are Circus Circus, Sahara, Tropicana and Imperial Palace. The highest are Wynn, Palazzo, Venetian and Mirage. But there are close casinos where locals enjoy gambling and the rates are great (and you can join the players club online) like Orleans, South Point, and Gold Coast. They give more comps (freebies) that any Strip Hotel for less gambling.

On the Strip you get one point for every $15 or more you play per hand, at a rate of at least six hands per minutes. While at the local casinos, the rate is way less. At a local casino you get points for any denomination in a machine but on the Strip you have to play at least quarters. Get the picture.

I suggest you go to www.lasvegasnow.com which is a local TV station with links where you can find the best rates and shows, etc. Otherwise try www.lasvegas.com OR www.vegas.com but not those advertised on TV all the time like priceline and hotels.com

And as to the question, yes they want you to stay, eat and gamble at one property but no longer with corporations owning most of the Strip casino hotels do you find those discounted rates.
check out my favorite website

I think that a good way would be calling the hotels directly they can do more in the way of mulitple room discounts. Also the travel sites are a good place to start, however, double check where the hotel is because sometimes they are in a not so nice area of town.
March is difficult because of the Final four and Nascar.

Pick up your local sunday newspaper travel section and look for the vegas gamblers junkets
There are lots of ways to get a discount hotel room but none has to do with getting you to gamble at their casino unless you are a high roller, in that case you can get your room comp-ed for free. Here are things you can do.

1) Shop around

2) Book as early as possible.

3)Check the convention center calendar to make sure there are no major events in town.

4) Check out http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/cheap-hot鈥?/a> for more tips.
We go to Vegas in March every year, and we are in the process of planning our trip this year. We always stay at Excalibur, but I like to entertain the idea of other hotels just in case. In my experience, the best way to find good hotel rates in a decent hotel is sign up for their email. For example, right now, Excalibur has their rates listed on their site as $81 night for the nights I am planning on staying there, but every year they send me an email for special March rates of $50 or less. I have also gotten some good rates on Luxor and Mandalay Bay in my email just for signing up for promotional offers. I don't trust the travel sites rates, because most of the hotels will guarantee their rates as the best rates, and will refund any difference you find. Also looking on ebay for promotional specials that others may have received for Las Vegas might work. I think I saw one last year for a free night at the Orleans. Luckily, Vegas has rates from $30 a night up to $tons of money a night. It just depends on your budget and which hotels you want to stay in. Good Luck!

  • Cheap / Discounted Hotels In America?

I am planning a road trip around America %26amp; Canda and I am looking for some good ideas to save money on hotels:

    1) I'm not a member of the AAA/CAA nor am i a senior citizen.

    2) I have a student card if that helps.

    3) I have a teacher's card if that helps.

    4) Where can i get coupons/discount vouchers for hotels?

Does anyone have any good ideas?Cheap / Discounted Hotels In America?
Check some of the cheaper websites like priceline.com and orbitz.com....also some hotel chains like Motel 6 are cheaperCheap / Discounted Hotels In America?
You can get hotel discount info on http://citydigest.net and http://couponsdealspromos.com Try searching for flexible dates for travel discounts for the best deals. They have student discounts also.
Check some of the cheaper websites like priceline.com
You should check out BiddingForTravel.com. It is a forum where people post their successful bids for Priceline so that can really help with getting the lowest possible rates.

However, the problem with Priceline hotels, in my opinion, is the uncertainty of Internet access. If that is also a concern of yours, try SearchAllDeals.com and get deals from hotels that have free Internet access. For example, a search for ';free wifi hotels'; returns the following result:

    http://www.searchalldeals.com/results.ht鈥?/a>

You can also search for hotel name/location if there is a specific hotel you are checking out. It is also good to stick to the related brands/one brand to get bonus nights.

Hope this is useful... Have a great road trip!
I would suggest going to www.travelstartingpoint.com. They have a list of the best travel bargain sites on the internet.

Phone a local travel agent. They do all the work for you and save you money.

They have brochures, knowledge, etc. It doesn't make sense to spend weeks trying to do what they can do in 5 minutes for you.
    Try expedia.com , hotwire.com, orlando.com , AAA.com
You will find all details here with very reasonable discounted exclusive hotel rates.
