I'm planning on traveling in the USA, mostly LA and NYC in April/May and I would like to book the hotels at least a couple of weeks in advance, I know some sites are just last minute ones, which is fine if they are cheap/good deals. I've tried Hotwire although it doesn't tell you which hotel it is, has anyone used hotwire? do you pay immediately? It's fine if I know I'm going to get a decent deal. I'm sure there was a site that I can't find now that listed top hotel discounts for the week? I would prefer to be able to click on the hotel and check it out first.What is the best site to find discounted hotels?

Looking for discounted hotels or vacation homes by fort myers beach/sanibel/captiva florida area in late Apr.?
We will be spending our anniversary %26amp; visting familia in Fort Myers/Sanibel/Captiva area in florida during apr. 20th thru apr 30th an were looking for desent priced hotels or someone we can rent from for 3-days from apr. 20th -23rd just to have some time alone when 1st arriving in florida..We do understand that things cost now adays but, wow everything I search for is like $250. an up nightly.We would like to be around the Estero Blvd area close to the Fort Myers Beach(within walking distance) our budget is tight on up to $100 per night.Were just looking for a clean, safe, trusting area, restaurants around, maybe shopping stores, romantic atomsphere, not so exspensiverooming an dining anniversary trip close to beach.....Help UsLooking for discounted hotels or vacation homes by fort myers beach/sanibel/captiva florida area in late Apr.?

well if you call up or go to the Tourists Bureau they can find some good hotels for cheap. We stayed at the Mandalay Bay for $65 a night. You can tell them what you prefer to spend a night on a hotel and they will search for you
If you gamble a significant amount, say 1K a day, and belong to the players club (get a rating) you can earn a discount on the cost of the room. But otherwise you are at the whim of the time of year, etc.
The best rates are Monday thru Thursday and not a holiday. Prices on The Strip vary but the best rates are Circus Circus, Sahara, Tropicana and Imperial Palace. The highest are Wynn, Palazzo, Venetian and Mirage. But there are close casinos where locals enjoy gambling and the rates are great (and you can join the players club online) like Orleans, South Point, and Gold Coast. They give more comps (freebies) that any Strip Hotel for less gambling.
On the Strip you get one point for every $15 or more you play per hand, at a rate of at least six hands per minutes. While at the local casinos, the rate is way less. At a local casino you get points for any denomination in a machine but on the Strip you have to play at least quarters. Get the picture.
I suggest you go to www.lasvegasnow.com which is a local TV station with links where you can find the best rates and shows, etc. Otherwise try www.lasvegas.com OR www.vegas.com but not those advertised on TV all the time like priceline and hotels.com

My friends and I have traveled to NYC 3 times now and each time we have stayed at the Manhattan Broadway Hotel. It is near Times Square and each time we have been able to stay in a room for under $150 a night. It does depend though on how many you will be traveling, but anyway...check them out.

Hurricane Discount Hotels Dallas Area?
It looks like my family and I may have to evacuate for yet another hurricane (we just got back from dallas last week due to Gustav). I was hoping that someone may know of hotels in the Dallas area that may be offering some sort of discount or special rate for evacuees. Seeing as how we don't know if we will be getting any gov't assistance, price is a BIG factor. There are lots of things I want to see while the area, so I'm hoping for something within 20 minutes of Dallas. Last time we stayed at a Sun Suites in Plano. China Discount Hotels-Has anyone used their service?
Hi, I would like to travel around China time to time in 2009 and due to the crisis atmophere, I want to do cost saving:P. Therefore by some friend's suggestion I want to book hotels online in advance. It's said it is more preferential. As a result I find this site www.chinahotels.hk. Does anyone hear of it and ever use their service? What about the price here, is it cheaper than the hotel counter?

They are the most fun, friendly places I have stayed and are ridiculously cheap, from 10RMB -about 1GBP per bed per night. You can also have a private room in a hostel from around 70RMB per night, depending which city you are in.

I heard from a friend that a string of hotels in Manhattan are celebrating a 60 year anniversary and are giving away 2 night reservations for about $20/night. But you can only book reservations on Oct. 1 within a 80 minute time period. I couldn't find any info on it online. Has anyone heard about this? I have been commuting to Mexico (noone in Mexico says mexico city it is just ';mexico';) for 22 years.your best bet for the money is the ';Mision Reforma Colon'; Colon is in reference to the monument to columbus. It is on the corner of Pasaeo de la Reforma or just plain reforma and Morelos. The rooms are nice with good security the direct phone number is 011 52 555 141 0442. tell them that Ulises quoted you $74 USD per night fot the master suite with the breakfast buffet (quite good).
Now, ulises just left the hotel to work in Puerta Vallarta but you should get the rate. Their english is passable and you should have no trouble.
the US Embassy is about 3 miles west straight on Reforma. Do not get caught in the line of Mexicans waiting for visa's. go to the front gate on reforma and flash your passport.
you will be escorted to the 2nd floor.they also will take you photos(for a fee pesos or dollars)
I used to renew there all the time. 4 months ago I went there and a very nasty woman tried to give me hell for letting my passport expire. I had to remind her that she works for me.
However, the new U S passports now have a chip installed but the embassy does not have that capability. you will get a passport good for one year only which you will have to deal with here before it expires . no additional fee.
The hotel bkfst. is quite good. skip lunch and dinner. lunch in mx. runs from about 1:30 PM to 5 or 6 or whatever. Dinner usually starts at about 9 or 10 pm. DO NOT call the US from your room ! IT's about $4.99 usd per minute!
buy a ';ladatel'; phone card from the woman in the street in front of the hotel. She will have a yellow jump suit. then use the public phone in the lobby. cards are 50, 100, 200 pesos.to call the US it is 001+area code+number
The doormen speak good english. ask them for OXXO store (1/2block) it is their 711.also there is Sanborn's 7 AM to 2 am for everything else 2 blocks away.if you need US news ask for the HERALD in sanborns. 7 pesos.

Any advice on a nice cheap hotel in Kiev, Ukraine or a website with discounted hotel rates?
I would perfer to stay in an American Hotel i.e. Hyatt or Radison, but the prices are high per night. Every Ukrainian hotels has mixed reviews. Look for a clean hotel room. Personally i never bother with hotels, and much prefer to rent an apartment somewhere close to the centre.Besserabskaya is my choice because its close to the supermarket at the Arena centre,and a good eating place ( look out for the puzhata hata chain ) i like to have a walk along Kreschatyik in the evenings ( if the weather is fine ) to independance square or up to sofiskaya.
For apartment rental its a good idea to look online and if not in the centre, then somewhere close to a metro station.
Outside the old part of the railway station there are quite often some women who work as agents for apartment rental companies, and they have loose folders with pictures of apartments, that are usually quite reasonable.
On the second floor of th new part of the railway station there is an office for apartment rentals, but they are not always the cheapest or in the best location.but they are ok.
If you want to experience something of the old soviet style hotels then ther is also the hotel Russia which is right on independance square, but personally i would just go for an apartment.

I get emails a couple of times a week with specials - sometimes they're a good deal, sometimes not. Recently, I was offered NYNY for $69 a night - not so bad, considering their ';rack rate'; is $149 a night for the time period offered. (I ended up using another emailed deal and got it for $59 a night.)

The best deals i've found are booking directly through the hotel you are interested in or book a package directly through the airline you are taking. Avoid most vegas.com places- they charge a booking fee so they can make money. It all depends on when your going and how busy the hotel is. The rates definitely fluctuate. I just went in october and booked through allegiantair.com and stayed and the wynn with roundtrip airfare after taxes and hotel for 3 nites for a total of 450.00. I went last february and stayed at the hardrock- booking directly through their site for 103.00 per nite. I'm going in june and staying at the palms for 107.00 per nite. It's definitely cheaper during the week mon. tues. wed. But stay somewhere nice- it's worth it and you can brag- best of luck!
The best casino to stay at in Las Vegas is the Rio! You will love it! The beds are SO comfortable and it is by far the cleanest casino.

There is a good chance if you call it will be lower than the website. If your a Total rewards member, log into your account and check the ';hot deals';. $1300 is outrageous for Excalibur.

I was all like SURE. We bought some outfits at like TARGET and I printed out a travelnow page at Luxor and they actually gave me the discounted price. But in my experiences you can find the best deals online.
Sometimes it's slow in Vegas and some of the hotels will give you vouchers for Slot Machines, or $10.00 off buffet dinners and the bouffets are like 5 star quality. Not all but most of the top notch hotels. not those STATIONS. A lot of the stations FIESTA, Sunset all those are like Burger King or some lowsy peasant food type stuff.
But if you want to spoil yourself try foods from all over stay at one of the nice hotes. Actually I stayed at Sunset Station and they REMODELED it was pretty nice much better than it used to be and they have good prices too.
Have fun! But you should check out travelnow and you can call them they are VERY nice. I used them for my trip to Europe also. No problems they are nice when you call them and explain things. Always print off your form too. because when I was in Europe they had my reservation but they wanted to see my paper??? I had to leave them a copy. But it was a good thing i had it because in Germany you cannot call 1800#s.

You can find good offers, reviews and ratings from guests (a great tool to decide based on other people bad or good staying experience).
I'm using it when I want to travel abroad and I didn't have any problems. The hotels and the rooms were exactly as I red and saw on site.
The maps also gives you an idea where the hotels reside.
The reservation process is easy and you don't need to pay with credit card.

Someone mentioned Formule 1, which is a good chain as well, and a bit cheaper than Etap, but you should know that you'd be sharing bathrooms and showers with other people. Some travelers don't mind that, but others might. At any rate here's a link for Etap if you're interested. They are not in the centre, you'll be hard pressed to find a hotel less than 40鈧?a night in the centre of Paris.

hotels are rather pricy in the city centre but with a great metro system wherever you stay in the city you can reach the centre in 10-15 mins. hotel new montmarte beside the sacre couer is great value around 拢20 prpn ($40, 35E,) including breakfast.

you got to understand why they offer the tickets. if you know what you're getting yourself into to begin with and know how to go about it you'll be fine. here's the gig:
these timeshare companies pay out of pocket for those tickets, and they pay the marketing rep who got you to go there before anybody even buys anything. those tickets aren't cheap. the reason they do that is nobody knows who's going to buy or not.... now you got to go to one of the marketing reps. they ussually take a $20 deposit from you and offer you 2 disney tickets for $25. now you have to go to the resort for the presentation. they will feed you breakfast (continental and it's not that great considering they feed about 1000 families a day) if you're picky about your food skip it tell them you ate already if you're on a budget... enjoy!
then you meet your presenter the easiest and less stressfull way to go about it is to agree and like everything they say and show you. let them know you're on a time restraint and always look for what's next. don't let them dwell on anything just ok and I understand ...etc. cool what's next yada yada..... now you get to the back end, they show you a price (outrageos at that) can't afford it (this is where the pressure starts if you let it. ) they will bring a manager to you and try to sell you again miraculously the price just dropped to half, then a quarter then they're practically trying to shove it down your throat. you're almost there. just stand your ground tell them no. you liked it, but Don't want it you're just here for your tickets. at taht pint you should be about 2 hours into it and siply and politely let them know you held your end of the deal where here over 90 minutes and you just want your tickets now. people buy under pressure! fact is 1of 10 people will buy a timeshare under the pressure. you not expressing any pressure let them know you're not buying they will realize you're not the one out of 10 and they will let you go with your tickets. if you go in there knowing this you'll be a successfull timeshare taker!.. i like half of oralando have worked at one of the timeshare companies and have taken my fare share of timeshare presentations from vegas to miami it's a good way to save some $$$$ on vacation if you're just willing to sacrifice a morning. plan accordingly!Has anyone ';attended a 2 hour time share pitch and got free disney world tickets/discount hotel?

most ppl who are signing you up for the tour don't care, just tell them you only want the tickets! b/c they get commission for signing you up, whether you buy the timeshare or not. so most of them dont care if you only want the free stuff. they will help you choose the package that will benefit you the most. Just make sure you show up for the presentation, sit through the whole thing, then politely tell the salesperson that it's not something you can afford.
if you have the money, it's not worth it. you'll only save from $75 to a couple hundred. if that's the case, just pay for the tickets at a ';discount ticket store'; instead of at the gate (you'll save from $5 to $20) and enjoy yourself. have fun!!

Most people get fooled into thinking that you go on a nice happy tour for the time mentioned, and then your off to enjoy your day.........wrong! Here's what they don't tell you. Now the tour itself is two hours. Once the 2 hour tour is over, a person will come to sell you on the timeshare. And they will go on and on and on and on. This process will be 1 hour 15 minutes at the least. And thats only if you say ';No!'; the first 50 times. When you say no, they will keep dropping the price and asking you if you would be able to afford the new lower price. There just seems to be no end and sight with those people.If you are extremely low on money, then it may be worth it. But if you have the money, then enjoy your vacation!

I GOT BOOKS AND GIFT CARDS AND FAMILY PHOTO AND SO FORTH HERE IS THE THING I CAN GET TO WDW OFTEN AND STAY FOR AT LEAST 8 DAYS SO AFTER A COUPLE DAYS I AM READY FOR DOWN TIME I GO EARLY IN THE MORNING BEFORE MY FAMILY GETS UP I AM AN EARLY BIRD. SO GO FOR IT IF THIS YOUR FIRST TRIP AND THIS IS NOT YOUR THING AVOID THIS ITS NOT WORTH IT.

Friends stayed there when they were visiting a few years ago and while it was nothing special, it was clean and quiet and actually had a little kitchenette in the room too.
Get breakfast at the 14 Carrot Cafe, about 2 blocks north of the Inn. Yum!!
it is not a great hotel but it is cheap and it is very close to downtown.
Pamana Hotel; i don't recommended if you are here for pleasure but it is cheap.

If you are looking for a nice hotel that is reasonably priced then I would recommend Hampton Inn Hotel and Suites. It's a chain owned by Hilton Hotels but is less expensive than Hilton. You would definately need a car to stay there to get into the downtown core which is at most a 5 minute drive away. It's located right near the Space Needle. There is a monorail that can take you right into downtown. I stayed there for 2 nights in March for around $110/night. It also includes a free continental breakfast and internet access in the lobby. The rooms are very comfortable and newly renovated. The Beds are new and very comfortable. One more plus is you can park around the hotel on the street if you don't want to pay for parking. At the hotels in the downtown core, parking was around $20-30 a night.
There are probably cheaper hotels around but some parts of Seattle are kinda sketchy so it depends what you are looking for or willing to put up with. You might get a better deal online?? We just walked up to the counter and booked a room.
